Only 2 weeks to go before the Velo29 Martyn Dobson Memorial Series kicks off at Croft… I hope you will all turn up to ride or to cheer on your buddies. First race is on Thursday 29th July. Here’s the race flyer to remind you of all the important details!
Velo29 Signs First Groupie
Velo29 has their first official groupie… a warm welcome from the team nana!
The Ryedale GP
Proving that any publicity is good publicity, Simon Thomas and Shane Leadley both got their pics on the BC main event report for the Ryedale GP (http://www.britishcycling.org.uk/web/site/BC/roa/EventReports2009/20090607_RyedaleGP.asp) Unfortunately it was because they were both involved in the same crash! Whilst Shane came out of it reasonably unscathed, Simon was left needing stitches in the local hospital. On a slightly more positive note, Dan Smith finished comfortably in what was left of the main peloton.

Velo29 Team for Ryedale GP
A slightly depleted team of 3 riders will take part in the Ryedale GP (the next round of the Premier Calendar Series) on the 7th June. With Richard Meadows away racing in Belgium, Dan Smith, Simon Thomas and guest rider Shane Leadley will be taking on the bigger teams on last year’s national championship circuit based near Helmsley.
Before that, Dan Smith will be taking part in the North East Division RR champs this Sunday. It will be a busy week for the rest of the team next week with Croft on Tuesday and the Hetton Coalfield Series on Wednesday… the season is really hotting up!
